Yes the fleas will jump on you, bite you, and hitch a ride back to your house. To get rid of the fleas on the stray animals, give them a flea dip first. Then once they are dry, apply some flea and tick drops, such as Frontline or Advantix between the shoulder blades. This should fix the problem for about a month.

If you have fleas you need to use a flea killer - Frontline, Advantix, Advantage, Sentinel, ect - for at least three months. For best results you need to KEEP using a flea / tick product. Otherwise the fleas will develop an immunity and the product won't work as effectively.

I don't feel like going into the full el grande reasons and stuff.

Yes you could possibly take the fleas home. I work as a groomer at petco, and I always leave my work shoes in the car, so I dont walk on my floor with my animals that I walked around in at work incase of disease. I also always come straight home, and put my work clothes in the washer, so if there are fleas or ticks, my aniamls dont get them.
