That’s right there is a bill s373 that would ban the interstate transport of some Boas and Pythons forever! We need to stand up and fight for our rights to keep these incredible reptiles. Snakes are not what they are being made out to be in mainstream media. Even if this bill doesn’t effect you directly you do not want the next animal bill to hurt the animals you love. Help us fight for the defeat of s373! Make sure to go to: www.usark.org http www.natpet.org http

wow .. dude thats all i got to say to that.. is wow.. how the hell is banning all exotics the simplest and fastest solution???? HAHAHA!.. that makes me laugh… that is the most dumb and crazy thing ive ever heard… that would only make the prob 1000 times worse… WOW!

  • Inquisitor53 says:

    1. Prove they haven’t. I’ve seen them there over a decade before Hurricane Andrew. Tell me how they got there. Did they fly in? 2. It all depended on what you were willing to sacrifice to save them.
    3. You’re way too late. You’d be closing the barn door after the livestock’s escaped, figuratively. Now, it’s FL law that a person, when possible, must destroy ANY python on sight in the wilds.
    4. If you had been willing to do this several years ago it might’ve made some impact. Now is too late.

  • Inquisitor53 says:

Life is full of options. You want a job so you can feed yourself or stay home with your python & both go hungry and if it’s big enough a misses a meal it will see you as it’s next one? Want a snake? Go native!

  • mugtar100 says:

prove that anyone deliberately dumped their python into the everglades.

I have absolutely no way of traveling a few thousand miles down to florida. I would have to give up school, friends, and family which isn’t worth it to me.

I wish I could help. In fact I may be down in florida in a few years

  • sesipe02 says:

damn brian is was sexy. it sucks that people buy any kind of animal and let them into the wild

  • Inquisitor53 says:

    1. SOME of it was an accident, the rest was deliberate.
    2. If that were truly the case you would’ve found some way to get here & help clean up the mess your ilk has left us., no matter what the cost. But because extremely few did you& your ilk are now facing the consequences of your inaction & apathy.
To the extreme few (maybe 2 dozen) that did assist I hold them in very high esteem. If any one deserves to keep their pythons it’s those few. Damn shame they didn’t get further assistance.

  • mugtar100 says:

pythons being released into the everglades was a tragic accident.

I want them gone from the everglades as much as anyone else.

  • mugtar100 says:

just because a few species of exotic reptiles thrive in a very specific ecosystem thousands of miles away from my house doesn’t mean all species should be banned.

if I let any of my snakes out where I live they would all be dead in a week. they are of no threat to any ecosystem around hear.

its a florida problem that should be solved in florida and non Floridians should be left alone.

  • mugtar100 says:

what about them? can you point me in the direction of an article about pythons spreading on their own into south carolina?

  • Inquisitor53 says:

You’re right about being charged yet but that too, is changing. Besides, dumpers are lazy. That won’t take the risk of being caught transporting one to dump if it’s illegal to have one in their possession. A The fastest, simplest solution is to ban all exotics. For all you python lovers/ owners… native snakes make far better pets.
And to think, all of you wouldn’t be crying the blues about losing your precious pets if I’d gotten your assistance when I asked for it. This is only karma.

  • mugtar100 says:

first of all no one has ever been charged with dumping a burmese python into the everglades. the only effective thing that can be done is to ensure that pet stores and breeders actually educate people before they buy a potentially large snake.

I am not at all against a chip and registration fee and MUCH stricter laws on breeding them and selling them.

  • Inquisitor53 says:

My point is all it takes is just a couple of people dumping 1 male & 1 female. Within 20 tears we’re back to the same problem.
How else will they be kept out MY STATE? You know the possibilities of them being smuggled in. If their banned from the entire country it will be a lot harder to do so than if smuggled in just a few states away. Very few will be willing to put that much effort into it, especially if they’re facing heavy-duty jail time & fines.

  • mugtar100 says:

thats exactly the point. the problem is IN YOUR OWN STATE none of the other 59 so leave everyone else the hell alone and deal with your own problems.

if this ban goes into effect and I move I will have to put down my snakes. not because they are suffering from a medical condition but because some useless fucking politician in DC says they’re dangerous to the ecosystem even I don’t live anywhere near any place where any of my snakes could survive more than a few weeks

  • Not to mention the environmental impact cats and dogs have had. God forbid a bill is written stating all cats and dogs are banned from crossing state borders.

  • Inquisitor53 says:

I’ve had to put my own pets down. snakebite, old age, contagious disease.
I know damn well of the pain one goes through in losing a pet. But that’s life. There are decisions we ALL have to make no matter how agonizing they may be. You folks are worried about your pets; I’m trying to prevent the destruction of an ecosystem so unique it is the only one like it in the world & it’s in my state & my kinfolks backyard & that is the Everglades. I’ll destroy every invader I can to help save it.

  • mugtar100 says:

can you not understand that people might be attached to their pets and don’t want to be FORCED to put them down if they ever have to move.

  • Inquisitor53 says:

Not if they’re allowed back into the state. Allowing them in here is how the problem started in the first place.

  • Inquisitor53 says:

Both! So while I’m out killing & skinning pythons you can remove the transplanted damnyankees & illegal immigrants. that will reduce miami’s population by at least two thirds.

  • mugtar100 says:

and that will be a lot better for the environment than any ban on burmese pythons

  • Inquisitor53 says:

    Just one heavy-duty pandemic.

  • Inquisitor53 says:

mugtar: that was the effect, not the cause.

  • mugtar100 says:

how much will it cost to remove humans from the everglades?
